Bringing Bronze Age Greek Hieroglyphes Back to Life

In my current series I show interactions and struggles between human figures and pre-Homeric Greek writing—logograms, syllabograms, and hieroglyphs. The human figures in my works are all, in their own ways, making contact with forgotten words and meanings. We face today a mass extinction of languages, the disappearance forever of words and, with them, cultures. In my works I reach back through time in search of sounds and meanings we have lost. With image and color I try to reconnect with the forgotten words of my homeland.
